Our curriculum has been designed with our learners’ needs at the heart. It is:

  • Trauma-aware and inclusive – safety and belonging come first
  • Structured and connected – knowledge builds step-by-step across subjects
  • Language and knowledge rich – helping learners close gaps and gain cultural capital
  • Focused on personal growth – building resilience, independence and self-regulation
  • Broad and aspirational – offering diverse subjects and pathways to prepare for adulthood

Every young person at Horizons Academy will follow the full national curriculum, alongside PSHE, RE, and enrichment. Our aim is not just academic success, but equipping our learners with life skills, confidence and aspirations for the future.
